My aim as a registered counsellor has been to gain as many experiential skills at this level as possible – all in a bid to offer a wider range of services to you.
During this process I feel very privileged to have been part of many varied beneficial training workshops, all of which can be passed on to you as my clients.
Over the years, I have been working closely as a counsellor with various organisations i.e. SA Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) who offer an invaluable service to the community on a national basis.
Similarly, I have worked closely with ICAS (an international company) and Careways who offer support to the commercial sector of the country.
Post Natal Depression of SA (PNDSA) offer an invaluable service to new mothers who have much more that just “baby blues”.
We can offer essential support for these new (and not so new) mums. From one end of the life cycle to the other end – I have been involved in the Alzheimer’s Association of SA (AAoSA).
This can be extremely distressing period for the family watching their loved ones deteriorate in this manner. My passion would lie in the caring of the caregivers of all elderly people. Both groups need respecting!
Finally, I have felt it important to try put something back into the community and so I am working with the Trauma Victim support unit at one of the SAPS stations in our area.
